If you choose to visit on Sunday morning, this is an idea of what you will experience:
Worships begins at 10:15, but we begin to gather about 10:00 am (although some of us slip in after 10:15, because mornings are hard!). You will notice music playing in the background and people milling around talking. You will be warmly welcomed as you settle into a chair.
Worship is casual. Wear whatever you are comfortable with. Some of us wear jeans (or shorts in warm weather), others prefer to dress up a bit.
The service begins with 3 organ chimes.
Our worship music is a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary praise music. It's important to us that we sing what we believe. Because of this, our music has strong social justice and inclusion themes.
The service includes a time of prayer when some of us find it meaningful to light a candle as we pray silently. Others prefer to remain seated as meditative music plays.
Our minister's sermon is normally 15 minutes long and includes visuals on the screen.
Communion is the final part of worship. Everyone is welcome to participate in communion (and yes, we mean everyone!). Following communion, we form a circle around the sanctuary and sing one last song. We see communion as a community celebration. Through communion, we celebrate God's love as it was revealed to us in Jesus' life and ministry.
We hope you will allow us to welcome you soon!
